30+ spaces are now open to applications from anyone aged 16 and over for the Demolition Apprenticeship programme starting in September 2021, including existing employees and new recruits of demolition firms.
The Trailblazer programme is the only apprenticeship scheme set up specifically by demolition employers in conjunction with the education sector and is hailed as ‘training developed by the industry, for the industry’.
Training is delivered both on-site and in a classroom environment. 34 days of classroom training, carried out over the two years, are delivered at satellite locations based on the location of the cohort, coordinated by LSEC (London South East Colleges).
At the end of the two-year apprenticeship programme, highly qualified demolition operatives at L2 standard will be ready to join the workforce.
The scheme has been made possible through the commitment of Aaron Davis (Head of Learning & Development, Keltbray), Stuart Accleton (Operations Director, Erith) and London South East Colleges, alongside other experts driving industry training standards.
The scheme has the backing of both the National Demolition Training Group and National Federation of Demolition Contractors, with many NFDC accredited demolition contractors already applying to enroll candidates for the September 2021 cohort.

Apprenticeship levy funding is available for this course, as well as CITB grants for attendance and achievement.
