CCDO Demolition and Refurbishment Operative Course Details

This course qualifies individuals in the demolition of non-load bearing structures and the removal of fixtures and fittings, providing the operative has the appropriate tools/skills training in the equipment required to undertake the task. The Demolition Refurbishment Operative will also be qualified to use mechanical hand tools.

Demolition Refurbishment Operatives may take additional training to be qualified in Working At Height or Safe Oxygen/Fuel Cutting. These skills do not form part of this qualification but may be taken as additional skills training.

The CCDO Demolition & Refurbishment Red card is initially valid for 3 years to enable a period of getting the knowledge obtained put into practice. During this 3-year window, they must complete the NVQ Level 2 in Demolition Operations.

Who should attend

  • Candidates must have at least two years experience as a Demolition Labourer.
  • Candidates require a Demolition Specialist or above Health, Safety and Environment Test Pass and a Current Approved Asbestos Awareness certificate (not e-learning).
The Red Demolition and Refurbishment Operative card is non-renewable. Candidates have 3 years to pass the relevant NVQ to become a qualified CCDO Demolition and Refurbishment Operative and be issued a Blue CCDO Demolition & Refurbishment Operative card. The Blue Demolition & Refurbishment Cards are renewable every 5 years.

CCDO Demolition And Refurbishment Operative (3 Year Card)

The CCDO Demolition And Refurbishment Operative card qualifies individuals in the demolition of non-load bearing structures and the removal of fixtures and fittings as well as using mechanical hand tools. The red card is valid for 3 years and is non-renewable. Red cardholders must complete NVQ Level 2 within the 3-year time frame to convert the card to a fully qualified Blue Demolition Refurbishment Operative card.

CCDO Demolition And Refurbishment Operative (3 Year Card)

Duties

  • The demolition of non-load bearing structures.
  • The removal of fixtures, fittings, and fully isolated M&E.
  • Using mechanical hand tools and will carry out additional skills training such as working at height where required.
  • Segregate materials for recycling.

Pre-requisites

Must have held a Demolition Labourer card and have 2 years Demolition Industry experience. To obtain a Demolition Labourers Level 1 card, you must meet all the pre-requisites for that card and complete the 1-day course with Level 1 test pass. The CCDO Demolition And Refurbishment Operative card qualifies individuals in the demolition of non-load bearing structures and the removal of fixtures and fittings as well as using mechanical hand tools. Individuals holding this qualification must have passed the Level 2 Demolition & Refurbishment NVQ. The blue card is valid for 5 years and is renewable.
