CCDO Demolition Chargehand Course Details
The CCDO Demolition Chargehands offers qualification for working supervisors who may lead a team of Topmen, Demolition Refurbishment Operatives and Labourers. They will supervise specific demolition or dismantling tasks and report to the CCDO Demolition Supervisor.
This course runs over 2 days in succession.

CCDO Chargehand is initially issued with a Red Chargehand card and required to pass the relevant NVQ within a 3 year period in order to move on to the Silver CCDO Chargehand card. The Silver card requires renewal after 5 years and this can be achieved with the NDTG’s Chargehand Refresher 1 day course.
When undertaking the CCDO Chargehand two-day course with NDTG, you can now add on SSSTS – saving two days of training and £200*
Who should attend
- Candidates must have 5 years of verifiable experience in the demolition industry.
- Candidates require a current Demolition Specialist or above Health, Safety and Environment Test Pass and a current Approved Asbestos Awareness certificate (not e-learning).

CCDO Demolition Chargehand (3 Year Card)
The CCDO Demolition Chargehand card teaches individuals the skills required to function as a team leader on demolition sites. Holders will already have 5 years demolition experience and will learn to supervise less experienced operatives and perform additional duties such as preparation and delivery of site inductions. The red card is valid for 3 years and is non-renewable. Red cardholders must complete NVQ Level 3 within the 3-year timeframe to convert the card to a fully qualified Silver Chargehand card.

- Team Leader directing and working alongside operatives.
- Preparation and delivery of site inductions.
Pre-requisites
PLEASE NOTE: The red card valid for 3 years. This card is non renewable. You must complete an NVQ level 3 within 3 years to convert your red Chargehand card to the silver Chargehand card. For more information, contact NDTG on 01442 217 144 (option 2).
CCDO Demolition Chargehand (5 Year Card)
For “working supervisors” leading a team of CCDO Topman, CCDO Demolition Refurbishment Operatives and CCDO Labourers to perform specific demolition or dismantling tasks, reporting to a CCDO Demolition Site Supervisor. Experienced Topmen who upon achieving the Chargehand course are required to achieve an NVQ Level 3 in Supervision. The individual holding this qualification should either have previously held or currently holds a full 5-year CCDO Topman qualification. The Silver card is valid for 5-years and is renewable.
