Face Fit – Qualitative Train the Tester Details

Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) can't protect the wearer if it leaks. A major cause of leaks is poor fit. Where RPE is used, it must be able to provide adequate protection for individual wearers.

It is a legal requirement that workers wearing tight-fitting RPE should be face fit tested by a competent person to the HSE standard. This requirement is detailed in the COSHH regulations.

The course is approximately a 4-hour session for up to 6 people. This will include a practical demonstration, course notes, and a short multiple-choice test. Candidates must be clean-shaven on the day of the course.

Please note: successfully certified attendees will be able to conduct their own face fit testing for operatives on sites. It does not permit them to teach the subject.

Who should attend

The course is relevant to those who will be carrying out face fit testing of RPE on a demolition site.

Course assessment and certification

This course is assessed by multiple-choice questions at the end of the session. A certificate will be issued by NDTG / Absolute RPE Solutions Ltd on successful completion of this course.
