CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) Refresher Course Details
The CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative (ADO) will have 5 years industry experience and be looking to move towards managing a small team.
The ADO qualification encompasses all of the roles of the Demolition Refurbishment Operative and also allows for the demolition of load-bearing walls and structures by hand. As well as significant on-the-job experience, a CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative will have skills training in a range of equipment to undertake demolition works by hand including Safe Oxygen/Fuel Cutting, Working At Height, working to method statements and pre-planned cutting sequences.
The Advanced Demolition Operative will be coordinated and supervised by either a CCDO Chargehand or CCDO Site Supervisor.

- Specialist Demolition Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen Test
- Level 2 Demolition and Refurbishment NVQ
- Asbestos Awareness

The CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative Red card is initially valid for 3 years to enable a period of getting the knowledge obtained to be put into practice. In order to qualify for the CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative Blue card, the operative must pass the relevant NVQ within a 3 year period.
Who should attend
- Candidates must have at least 5 years verifiable Demolition industry experience.
- Candidates are required to complete a current Demolition Specialist or above Health, Safety and Environment Test Pass and a Current Approved Asbestos Awareness certificate (not e-learning).

CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative (3 Year Card)
The CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) card qualifies individuals in the demolition of structural elements including operation of relevant tools, interpretation of drawings and structural hotworks. Holders will need 5 years’ experience in the industry (verified by a CV) in order to sit the 1-day course. The red card is valid for 3 years and is non-renewable. Red card holders must complete NVQ Level 3 within the 3-year timeframe to convert the card to a fully qualified Blue Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) card.

- Operation of work tools.
- Implementation of work in accordance with RAMS.
- Interpretation of drawings/instructions.
- Reporting variations to RAMS.
- Structural hot works.
Pre-requisites
PLEASE NOTE: The red card is valid for 3 years. This card is non-renewable. You must complete an NVQ level 3 within 3 years to convert your red Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) card to the blue Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) card. CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative (5 Year Card)
The CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) card qualifies individuals in the demolition of structural elements including operation of relevant tools, interpretation of drawings and structural hotworks. Individuals will need to pass the Level 3 Advanced Demolition Operative (Topman) NVQ in order to hold this card. The blue card is valid for 5 years and is renewable.
